Denis Villeneuve seems to be seeking an “unknown” actor to portray James Bond in the next film of the popular franchise. Until now, rumors had circulated that several famous actors were competing for the role of 007, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson considered the frontrunner to succeed Daniel Craig.
Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi had also been mentioned as possible candidates for the role of the British Secret Service agent. However, according to a new report from Deadline, the Dune director prefers a “fresh face” and plans to launch the casting search after completing production on Dune: Part Three.

The same report states that the selection criteria include the actor being male, born in the British Isles, and most likely in his late 20s or early 30s.
Additionally, it was announced earlier this year that Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, has been hired to write the script for the new James Bond film.
