Emergency weather deterioration bulletin from EMY: Rain, thunderstorms and hail on Thursday and Friday

The severe weather will also hit Attica tomorrow from noon until evening – Most areas of the country will be affected by intense phenomena

Newsroom October 1 12:35

Severe weather with heavy rain, thunderstorms and local hail is forecast by EMY for Thursday (2/10) and Friday (3/10), according to an emergency bulletin of Hazardous Weather Phenomena issued on Wednesday noon.

According to EMY, Attica will also be hit from Thursday noon until the evening with heavy rainfall and possible hail.

The deterioration in weather is caused by cold air masses in the upper atmosphere of central Europe which, through the Adriatic, are “reaching” Greece.

As EMY notes, the phenomena will be particularly intense and more dangerous in the Ionian Islands (mainly Zakynthos, Kefalonia) and western and southern Peloponnese on Thursday until early afternoon. Strong phenomena will also affect central Macedonia from Thursday afternoon until the early hours of Friday.

Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and the islands of the Eastern Aegean will be affected on Friday until midday, while the Dodecanese will experience more severe conditions on Friday from early morning until the afternoon.

EMY announcement

Severe weather with heavy rains, thunderstorms, and local hail is forecast in our country during the two-day period of Thursday (2-10-25) – Friday (3-10-25).

b. From dawn until afternoon in Epirus, western Macedonia, western Sterea, and western and southern Peloponnese

c. From late morning in central Macedonia

d. From noon and at intervals until evening in Thessaly, central and eastern Sterea (including Attica), the rest of the Peloponnese, western Crete, Evia, and the Sporades

e. From evening hours in the islands of the Eastern Aegean and eastern Macedonia

f. From late night in Thrace

B. On Friday (3-10-25)

a. From early morning until afternoon in the Dodecanese

b. Until midday in eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and the islands of the Eastern Aegean

c. Until morning hours in central Macedonia

The phenomena will be particularly intense and present greater danger:

a. In the Ionian Islands (especially Zakynthos and Kefalonia) and western and southern Peloponnese on Thursday until early afternoon
