A new blow to drug trafficking rings has been struck by Greek authorities, with the seizure of more than 38 kilos of cocaine at the port of Piraeus.
The quantity of the drug was found carefully hidden inside a container of bananas, following a coordinated operation by the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, the Sub-Directorate for Narcotics, and the competent customs and financial authorities.
According to estimates, the value of the seized cocaine on the illegal market could exceed one million euros.
According to the National Police, -33- improvised packages containing cocaine with a total gross weight of -38- kilograms and -200- grams were found, which had been carefully placed inside a container, between the refrigeration mechanism and the inner wall.

The container, coming by ship from a foreign country to the port of Piraeus, was loaded with -1,080- cartons of bananas.
