Russian President Bladimir Putin should only come to Europe if he is to sign an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said today.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday he will meet Putin soon in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, for talks on Ukraine.
“It is useful for the US authorities to be able to exchange views in order to have continuity in the dialogue with the Russian authorities. However, Vladimir Putin’s announced visit to the European Union only makes sense if it leads to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire,”Barrot noted ahead of the EU foreign ministers’ meeting in Luxembourg.
