The sad list of victims to the flu continues to get longer. Two more people lost their lives in the past 24 hours due to complications experienced after they became ill with the flu.

According to the Center For Disease Control, the death toll due to influenza amounts to 132, while 21 patients are still hospitalized in intensive care units across the country.

The circulation of influenza viruses is reduced, as is now reflected in the reduce number of patients needing to be taken to the ICU for treatment.

The total number of patients moved to the ICU due to influenza this year has reached 322, with the majority being chronic patients and unvaccinated against influenza.
