KIEFER Supports AI Innovation in Greece with NVIDIA

KIEFER combines sustainable infrastructure with cutting-edge artificial intelligence to accelerate technological sovereignty and economic transformation

Newsroom November 8 03:01

KIEFER today announced its deployment of NVIDIA DGX BasePOD infrastructure with NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and NVIDIA Mission Control software, establishing advanced AI compute capabilities within Greece while ensuring 100% renewable energy powering for all operations. This initiative is designed to create a comprehensive AI ecosystem that spans research, education, industry applications, and startup acceleration to accelerate Greece’s trajectory toward technological sovereignty and stimulate innovation across diverse economic sectors.

Revolutionary AI Infrastructure Meets Sustainable Innovation

Central to this collaboration is the development of Sophea.ai, a Greek-specific Large Language Model designed to provide superior performance with deep understanding of Greek language, cultural context, and local business requirements. KIEFER is using NVIDIA DGX B200 systems to train and fine-tune the foundational model, along with NVIDIA Nemotron as well as the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform to support this development. This sovereign AI solution will be powered by NVIDIA AI infrastructure and trained using KIEFER’s extensive renewable energy infrastructure, representing an important step in environmentally responsible AI development.

KIEFER will leverage the comprehensive NVIDIA ecosystem to advance intelligent automation across traditional industries, with particular emphasis on construction and renewable energy applications. The company will unveil a groundbreaking construction robot specifically engineered for Greek infrastructure projects, combining decades of industry expertise with NVIDIA’s advanced AI and robotics platforms, including NVIDIA Omniverse for simulation and training and NVIDIA Cosmos for world modeling and synthetic data generation.

Executive Leadership Vision

“Our collaboration with NVIDIA AI infrastructure deployment empowers us to combine our expertise in sustainable infrastructure with the most advanced AI technology,” said Christos Petrocheilos, CEO of KIEFER. “Together, we aim to create an ecosystem that fosters innovation, strengthens Greece’s technological sovereignty, and delivers real impact across industries.”

“Greece is positioned to become a powerhouse for AI-driven innovation in South-Eastern Europe,” said Roman Sioda, Enterprise Director, Central and Eastern Europe at NVIDIA. “This collaboration exemplifies how advanced AI infrastructure, when combined with visionary leadership and sustainable practices, can create transformative economic opportunities.”

Comprehensive Ecosystem Development

AI and data science ventures associated with KIEFER’s Center of Excellence for AI will have access to the NVIDIA Inception program, gaining technical expertise, preferred pricing on NVIDIA products, cloud credits, and opportunities to connect with a global innovation community. This startup acceleration component ensures that Greece’s emerging AI companies have access to the resources and networks necessary for international expansion.

Inaugural AI Days: Greece’s Premier AI Innovation Event

To launch this significant collaboration, KIEFER and NVIDIA will host the inaugural AI Days, a multi-day hackathon and innovation summit bringing together the brightest minds from across Europe. This flagship event will feature hands-on workshops, GPU bootcamps, industry challenges, and networking opportunities with leading AI researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors.

Participants will have exclusive access to NVIDIA’s latest technologies, receive mentorship from industry experts, and compete for substantial prizes including startup funding, NVIDIA hardware grants, and accelerated entry into the Inception program. The event will showcase real-world AI applications across sectors including renewable energy, construction, healthcare, and public services.

Sustainable AI Leadership

With a robust renewable energy portfolio exceeding 600 MW in active development and over 1 GW in energy storage projects across Greece, KIEFER is uniquely positioned to demonstrate how advanced AI capabilities can be seamlessly integrated with sustainable practices. By powering all AI operations with 100% renewable energy, this collaboration ensures that Greece’s technological advancement aligns with global environmental objectives and contributes to responsible AI development.
