Former wife of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Saja al-Dulaimi is to be set free from the maximum security prison she is being held in just outside Beirut.
The woman is pregnant and is due to give birth soon. The news of her release was leaked by Lebanon security officials to the British press. According to the publication, Lebanese authorities will exchange al-Baghdadi’s former wife with 24 Lebanese security officers held by an Al Qaeda branch.
Al-Dulaimi had married the ISIS leader for three months and had a daughter with him, who was arrested alongside her. The woman is now married to a Palestinian. She was living in Tripoli since 2013 where she joined the Al Nusra front for which she played an important role.
The hostage agreement between Lebanon and Al Nusra is at the final stage of negotiations.
Lebanese officials were abducted by Al Nusra and jihadi fighters last august.
