Corfu port has experienced a slight reduction in cruise passengers compared with the same period in 2013, a decline of 21.3% with 18,612 fewer passengers and 15 cruise ships less.
Occupancy stood at 83.5%, slightly increased (by 1%). This is a favorable sign of what’s to come, since greater capacity cruise ships are approaching Greece.
The estimate for 2014 in regards to the Corfu port, has a transit and embarkation of 630,000 to 640,000 passengers, accentuated by fewer arrivals due to aforementioned reasons (Eastern Mediterranean conflicts, shifting cruise liners towards Asia and America), etc.).
Regarding the nationalities of visitors, English residents were leading, with 27,993 passengers, followed by 22,282 Italians, 14,046 Germans, 11,785 Americans, 9,665 French and 5,152 Austrians.
