Her disapproval of images of her fellow doctors participating in Thursday’s General State Hospital of Nikea during the visit of the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiades, for the inauguration of the renovated ICU, Matina Pagoni, expressed on Friday morning.

“These images do not represent me. Spitting to attack and wearing the doctor’s apron and creating these situations do not represent me,” Ms. Pagoni told MEGA . “As a trade unionist, I know that trade unionism is to demand with seriousness and responsibility and to demand for the good of patients and colleagues,” she added.

“Unfortunately these images were not liked by the people and are not acceptable. You cannot see a doctor being attacked in this way and spat upon,” he said in this context.

As he clarified those who participated in the incidents “are of our federation from a particular faction. I am unworthy to discuss specific persons who participated. This is not the first time they have done it, these persons are known”

“We when we wear the gown and clothes of the hospital where we work cannot offer people such images. We have to demand but not with these images, I am sorry. The outpatient department at Nikea Hospital was a mess, they were fixed and you create such a situation when they give you something better? You have other things on your mind. When they offer us something better, should we not accept it?” concluded Matina Pagoni
