Donald Trump did not hide his dissatisfaction with the new leadership in Iran. The U.S. president, in a statement to the New York Post, said bluntly that he is “not happy” with the appointment of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as the successor to his assassinated father.
When asked what his plans are for the country’s new Supreme Leader, he said “I’m not going to tell you,” adding: “I’m not happy with him,” he said from his golf club in Doral, near Miami.
The American president also said that he has “no intention” of sending U.S. troops to Iran to seize nuclear material from Isfahan.
“We haven’t made any decision about that. We have no intention,” Trump said regarding rumors about sending U.S. troops to Iran’s underground uranium enrichment facility near the country’s historic capital.
