Rainy weather is expected today, Tuesday, with scattered thunderstorms mainly in the south and especially in Crete, while snowfall is expected in the mountainous mainland. Winds in the Aegean will blow strong from northern directions and temperatures will remain relatively low for the season, with attention turning to March 25, when instability will also affect parades in several areas.

Unsettled weather on March 25 – Rain during parades
Attention is focused on the weather on March 25, as rainfall is expected in several parts of the country from the early morning hours.

Specifically, rain is forecast in Central Greece, Evia, Thessaly and the Sporades, while as parade time approaches, the phenomena are expected to intensify.

According to meteorologist Giannis Stamatakis, parades are expected to take place under rain in several areas, including Attica, Evia, Central Greece, the Cyclades and Crete, where local thunderstorms will also occur.

Gradual improvement in the weather is expected from midday of the same day, as phenomena will weaken in most areas and will be limited mainly to the Cyclades and Crete.

New deterioration from Friday – Rain until early April
After that, the weather will remain unsettled, with new waves of rain and storms from Friday through Sunday.

At the same time, heavy snowfall is expected in the mountainous areas of Epirus, while the same pattern appears to continue until the end of March and the first days of April, with successive disturbances, rain and low temperatures.

Minimum temperature at -3 °C on the morning of Monday, March 23, 2026
The mercury dropped to -3 °C on the morning of Monday, 04/03 in the northern mainland parts of the country. According to the network of automatic weather stations of meteo.gr / National Observatory of Athens, the lowest temperature was recorded in Ochyro Nevrokopiou at -3.2 °C.

Today’s weather
Increased cloud cover is expected across the country, with local rain in most areas, while scattered thunderstorms are expected in the southernmost parts, mainly in Crete. Phenomena will be more intense in the Peloponnese, Crete, and from the afternoon locally in eastern mainland areas, Evia and the Sporades. Snowfall will occur in the mountainous mainland.

Temperatures will range in Western Macedonia from -2 to 12°C, in the rest of Northern Greece from -2 to 13–15°C, in Epirus from 3 to 15–16°C, in Thessaly from 3 to 14–15°C, in the rest of the mainland from 5 to 14–16°C, in the Ionian islands from 7 to 15–17°C, in the Northern and Northeastern Aegean islands from 6 to 13–15°C and in the rest of the Aegean islands and Crete from 7 to 15–17°C.

Winds in the Aegean will blow from northern directions at 4–5 Beaufort, gradually reaching 6 Beaufort, while in the evening they will locally strengthen to 7 Beaufort. In the Ionian, northerly winds will also prevail, reaching up to 5 Beaufort locally.

In Attica, cloud cover is expected, with intermittent rain after midday. Snowfall will occur in the evening on Mount Parnitha and Mount Kithairon. Winds will blow from northern directions at 4–5 Beaufort, strengthening in the east in the evening to 6 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 9 to 15°C.

In Thessaloniki, cloud cover with occasional light rain is expected. Winds will be light, but will gradually turn to north-northwesterly at up to 4 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 7 to 13°C.

Weather on Wednesday 25-03-2026
In the west, generally clear weather with a few clouds that will locally increase during midday and afternoon hours. In the rest of the country, partly cloudy skies with local rain mainly in the eastern mainland and the Aegean. Scattered thunderstorms will occur in Crete, from the afternoon in the Dodecanese and possibly until midday in Evia and the Cyclades. Phenomena in Crete may be temporarily intense. From midday, the weather will gradually improve and phenomena will be limited to Crete and the Dodecanese. Light snowfall will occur in the mountainous mainland until midday.

Winds will blow from northern directions, at 4 to 5 Beaufort in the west, 4 to 6 in the east and 7 locally up to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean, weakening from the afternoon.

Temperatures will rise slightly, reaching 16 to 18°C in most areas, and locally 19 to 20°C in the west.

In the west, a few clouds that will gradually increase, bringing local rain, while in the evening scattered thunderstorms will occur in the north. In the rest of the country, generally clear weather with thin clouds, at times denser. Visibility in the morning hours in the western mainland will be locally limited.

Winds will initially blow from northern directions at 3 to 5 Beaufort and locally up to 6 in the Aegean, gradually turning from the west to west-southwesterly at 4 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperatures will show a further slight increase.

Weather on Friday 27-03-2026
Partly cloudy skies with local rain across most of the country. Scattered thunderstorms will initially occur in the west, gradually in the north and in the evening in the islands of the Eastern Aegean. Snowfall will occur in the mountainous mainland.

Winds will blow west-southwesterly at 4 to 6 Beaufort and locally up to 7 at sea.

Temperatures will drop, mainly in the west.

Weather on Saturday 28-03-2026
In the west, south and eastern Aegean, cloudiness with local rain and mainly in the Eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese scattered thunderstorms. In the rest of the country, a few clouds, locally increased mainly during midday and afternoon hours, when local showers or isolated thunderstorms will occur. Snowfall will occur in the mountainous mainland.

Winds will blow in the east west-southwesterly and in the west west-northwesterly at 3 to 5 Beaufort and locally up to 6 in central and southern seas.

Temperatures will not change significantly.
