Rain and local thunderstorms are expected in many parts of Greece on Saturday, while forecasts indicate a drop in temperature after Holy Thursday. Mild to moderate instability is also expected around Easter.
According to forecasts, rain and local storms will affect many areas of the country today, mainly Western Greece, the Peloponnese, the Cyclades, Crete, and parts of the Eastern Aegean. Notable rainfall is also expected in several mainland regions. Winds will be moderate in the Ionian and Aegean seas, while temperatures will rise.
Meteorologist Thodoris Kolydas notes that, based on forecast data for Athens, the likelihood of a temperature drop increases after Holy Thursday, while rainfall toward the end of Holy Week and on Easter Sunday currently shows only moderate indications. Between April 10 and 12, a colder trend is expected, with temperatures dropping from 22–23°C to around 3–4°C. The period from Good Friday to Holy Saturday shows the highest probability (around 70–80%) for a temperature drop, with less certainty about how long the colder conditions will persist into Easter Sunday.

Instability and local phenomena for Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday
For Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, the chances of local weather phenomena and instability remain limited. The probability for Holy Saturday is around 30–40%, while for Easter Sunday it ranges between 25–35%, with greater uncertainty. Kolydas suggests limiting forecasts to Holy Thursday, as uncertainty increases further ahead.
The overall conclusion is that the main trend points to cooler conditions after Holy Thursday, with limited instability for Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. Forecasts will continue to be updated, but for now the signal suggests rain, local instability, and lower temperatures next week.
