Savvas Bakartzief, the 27-year-old Bulgarian father accused of infanticide, is currently in jail following accusations that he killed his 4-year-old daughter, cut up her body, boiled the parts and threw it in the trash to get rid of the evidence. In a telephone conversation with private ALPHA TV from Corfu prison, he claimed that he did not kill Ani and that light will be shed on the issue once his friend Nikolai is found.
He claims innocence, stating that his friend was present at the house where the crime took place. Asked about why his friend said that he had killed his daughter, the father responded: “When they find Niki, all will be revealed. Anyone can say what they want from the phone. What they say is BS.”
Asked to explain who killed Ani, he says: “I did not kill the child. Who killed her? Nobody…”
