Iran’s ambassador to Tunisia says Iran is in “armed negotiations” with the US
Mir Masoud Hosseinian stated that Iran is engaged in “armed negotiations” with the United States.
“We remain cautious, and our hand stays on the trigger because we do not trust them,” he told the Associated Press.
Accusing the US and Israel of violating the ceasefire, the official said Iran is ready to defend itself if no satisfactory outcome is reached within the next two weeks.
He added that Iran has been trapped for years in a “vicious cycle” of negotiations, war, ceasefire, and renewed conflict, stressing: “We want to break this cycle.”
Hosseinian also noted that the management of the Strait of Hormuz after the war will “inevitably differ from before.”
At the same time, he emphasized that Iran’s right to uranium enrichment is “non-negotiable,” although the level of enrichment could be discussed, presenting the country’s nuclear program as a necessary component of future energy security.
Trump: We are loading our ships with “the best ammunition”
Donald Trump said the United States is ready to resume military strikes against Iran if the peace talks underway in Pakistan fail to produce an agreement, following the temporary two-week ceasefire reached earlier this week.
In an interview with the New York Post, Trump stated that US warships are being re-equipped with advanced weaponry in preparation for a possible resumption of operations.
Netanyahu requests delay in corruption trial testimony
Benjamin Netanyahu has requested a postponement of his testimony in his corruption trial, citing the security situation in the region.
According to a court filing submitted Friday, the Israeli prime minister will not be able to testify for at least the next two weeks due to “security and diplomatic reasons” linked to recent developments in Israel and the broader Middle East.
The decision will be made after prosecutors submit their position to the Jerusalem District Court.

Hezbollah leader warns Beirut not to make “free concessions” to Israel ahead of next week’s talks
Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem called on the Lebanese government to stop making “free concessions” to Israel, as the two sides are expected to begin negotiations in Washington next week.
“We will not accept a return to the previous situation and we call on officials to stop offering free concessions,” Qassem said in a written statement broadcast by the group’s Al-Manar TV network, in which he also denounced the “bloody criminality of Wednesday,” when Israeli strikes killed more than 300 people.

Keir Starmer says he is “outraged” and takes a swipe at Donald Trump
In a rare remark, the British prime minister referred to energy bills fluctuating due to Putin or Trump
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he was “outraged” that energy bills for households and businesses are rising and falling internationally due to the actions of Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
In an interview with ITV, Starmer essentially sought to highlight the need for Britain’s energy independence. However, the fact that he placed the Russian and American presidents in the same context marks an unusual departure for the British prime minister, who typically avoids direct criticism of Donald Trump.
The war with Iran has worsened relations between the two leaders, with Trump reacting strongly to Starmer’s reluctance to become involved in the conflict.

Strike on school in southern Lebanon used by Hezbollah, IDF say
Hezbollah members launched rockets from a school in southern Lebanon, the IDF said, releasing video footage.
According to the Israeli military, drone footage from the village of Shihabiya in southern Lebanon shows “the thermal signature of the launcher clearly visible, as well as its real-time transfer into the school premises.”
Launching rockets from a school facility “constitutes a violation of international law,” the Israeli military claims.
The army added that it carried out a strike on the site “in order to remove the threat to the State of Israel.”
