Easter Monday today, and except the Ionian Sea, where the southerly winds will strengthen and reach 8 Beaufort, the weather will be an ally for those who choose to return from their Easter holidays, according to meteorologist George Tsatrafyllia’s forecast on prototothema.gr.

As it says, today we expect only a few clouds in mainland Greece, which will become thicker after noon and bring light showers in the north.

Temperatures will reach 24 to 25 degrees Celsius in the western mainland and 20 to 21 degrees in the Ionian and eastern Aegean. In the evening, the chill will be less intense with thermometers showing 12 to 13 degrees Celsius in central Greece and 15 to 16 degrees on the islands.

Winds in the Ionian Sea will blow south up to 8 Beaufort and in the Aegean Sea from various directions up to 4 Beaufort but will gradually weaken.

In Attica, a lot of sunshine is expected. Winds will blow from easterly directions and will reach 3 Beaufort in the Euboeikos and 3 Beaufort in the Saronic Gulf. The temperature will range from 10 to 19 degrees.

On the contrary, in Thessaloniki, more clouds are forecasted. Southeast winds up to 4 Beaufort will blow in Thermaikos, while the temperature will range from 8 to 18 degrees.

“From Easter Tuesday until Thursday, increased transport of African dust is forecasted towards our region,” according to George Tsatrafyllia. “This means that any showers that occur during this period will be mud showers. Our data show scattered, light showers of short duration on the mainland and Crete. Traffic will then change. North winds are coming in, which will drop the temperature and gradually remove the dust!” the meteorologist concludes his forecast.
