Pizza crust leads to wealthy Greek-American family's alleged killer (video)

DNA testing breaks the case! $40K was delivered to the house shortly before the killings

Newsroom May 21 07:59

Law enforcement sources confirmed that they have identified a suspect involved in the quadruple murder of the Greek-American Savopoulos family and their housemaid in the family’s Washington D.C. mansion. A warrant for the arrest of Daron Dylon Wint, aged 34 from Maryland, has been issued though his whereabouts are unknown. He is described as a black male of 5’7’’ height, weighing 155 pounds.

MAN

The break in the case came when the killer(s) ordered a pizza from Domino’s on the night of May 13. The police matched Wint to DNA found on the leftover crust. The delivery had been made at some point during the 10 hours when Savvas and Amy Savopoulos, aged 46 and 47 years, were apparently tied up along with their 10-year-old son and maid Veralicia Figuaroa, aged 57 years.

Law enforcement sources have verified that the family was tortured, including the child. Shortly before the murder, an assistant delivered a package with $40,000 in cash to the mansion. Hours later the multi-million dollar house was on fire with the four occupants dead inside. The cash was gone and the family’s blue Porsche was burnt at a church parking lot in Prince George’s County.

Funeral services for the family are scheduled on May 25 at noon at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The family is survived by two daughters, aged 16 and 19 years, who were away at boarding school during the time.
