The “Odyssey” by Christopher Nolan is by far the most anticipated film of the year in the film world, and today Universal released a new trailer that is truly breathtaking, revealing much more about the film.
In this new trailer—premiered on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”—we see Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, battling the Cyclops, while the villain Antinous, played by Robert Pattinson, attempts to seize the throne of Ithaca.
We also see Anne Hathaway as Penelope and Charlize Theron as Circe, with particularly impressive visuals, while there are several scenes featuring Tom Holland as Telemachus. The new trailer also shows Argos, Odysseus’ faithful dog.
We also get our first full look at the Cyclops, who appears to already be holding one of Odysseus’ soldiers in his hands. The trailer also shows more scenes of slaughter from the Battle of Troy, as well as what appears to be a battle with the Laestrygonians.

The film is an adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic, the Odyssey, and includes the Sirens as well as other mythological elements. Nolan shot the film entirely with IMAX cameras, and the battle scenes in the trailer—truly spectacular—are expected to be awe-inspiring on the big screen.

The huge cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Jimmy Gonzales, Elliot Page, and Jovan Adepo, among dozens of other stars portraying characters from Homer’s epic.
