The discovery of a drone vessel off Lefkada by fishermen yesterday is developing into a thriller, as it soon became clear that the unmanned craft carried special sensors, antennas, and advanced communications equipment.

According to information from Protothema.gr, the drone does not belong to a private owner, as it appears to be of military construction. The same sources report that it was loaded with explosives and three detonators, and that the authorities handling the case have already disarmed it.

It is described as an advanced USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) of Ukraine manufacture, similar to those widely used during the war in Ukraine for reconnaissance missions and high-precision attacks against Russian targets in the Black Sea.

The black vessel found by fishermen in Lefkada

It is recalled that the black speedboat was found inside a cave, with its engine still running, according to thespotlight.gr.

The fishermen tied it up and towed it to the port of Vasiliki, before it was later collected by the Hellenic Coast Guard. It was subsequently handed over to the Greek Ministry of National Defence, which has undertaken its guarding and examination, while the incident has been officially recorded.
