Elon Musk was added to the many people who have “attacked” director Christopher Nolan over his casting choices in the cinematic adaptation of Homer’s “Odyssey”.

The trigger for his outburst was the -at least- controversial casting choices of Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy and Elliot Page, the transgender actor with whom Nolan collaborated in Inception, allegedly as…Achilles!

According to a report by TIME, for some reason Nyong’o will not only portray the most beautiful woman of ancient Greece but also her sister, Clytemnestra, the wife of Agamemnon.

“Chris Nolan is pissing on Homer’s grave. Disgraceful,” Elon Musk wrote, commenting on a report by Variety regarding criticism he has directed at the director of The Odyssey.

In a second reply within the same post he wrote about Nolan that he “grossly insulted the Greek people. Shame on him.”

Reactions started many months ago when the first information regarding the cast leaked on social media. Two days before Musk’s posts, Matt Walsh had written that “Not one person on the planet actually thinks that Lupita Nyong’o is ‘the most beautiful woman in the world.’ But Christopher Nolan knows that he would be called racist if he gave ‘the most beautiful woman’ role to a white woman. Nolan is technically talented but a coward,” with Elon Musk responding “it is true.”

According to Elon Musk, what Christopher Nolan is aiming for is “awards,” and for that reason he has “altered” the characters of the “Odyssey,” something that is true as since 2020, in order for a film to be eligible for an Academy Award for Best Picture it must meet diversity criteria…

The backlash on social media has been severe.

The Odyssey is one of the greatest works of literature in history. As a lover of Western Civilization — and as the proud son of a Greek immigrant — I denounce Nolan's sacrilege in perverting this great epic with DEI & trans lunacy. Shame on him & shame on Hollywood. https://t.co/xvt5GAxMnv
