The summer-like weather of recent days is temporarily giving way to unstable conditions, as rain, thunderstorms, and locally intense weather phenomena are expected today in several parts of the country. Temperatures will fall slightly, while northerly winds will gradually strengthen, especially in the Aegean.
According to the forecast from the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), the weather systems will mainly affect the Ionian Sea and mainland Greece. Conditions are expected to improve from the evening onward, while sunshine will return toward the end of the week, accompanied by strong seasonal northerly winds (meltemi) reaching locally up to 7 Beaufort.
Macedonia and Thrace
Weather: Increased cloud cover with local rain showers and thunderstorms, mainly in Macedonia. Conditions will improve during the evening.
Winds: Variable 2–4 Beaufort; in eastern Macedonia and Thrace, northerly winds 3–5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 18°C to 32°C, locally up to 33°C. Western Macedonia will be 2–4 degrees cooler.
Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Central Greece, Western Peloponnese
Weather: Partly cloudy, becoming cloudier over time. Local rain showers are expected, with thunderstorms mainly over mountainous mainland areas during the afternoon. Improvement is expected from the evening.
Winds: Westerly 3–4 Beaufort, locally up to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 17°C to 30°C, reaching 31°C inland. Interior Epirus will be 2–3 degrees cooler.
Thessaly, Eastern Central Greece, Euboea, Eastern Peloponnese
Weather: Generally fair, with periods of increased cloud cover bringing local rain and afternoon showers, especially in mountainous areas where thunderstorms may occur.
Winds: Variable around 3 Beaufort, gradually turning northerly at 3–5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 18°C to 31°C, locally 32–33°C inland.
Cyclades and Crete
Weather: Generally sunny.
Winds: Westerly 3–5 Beaufort; in the Cyclades, northerly winds locally reaching 6 Beaufort.
Temperature: 20°C to 28°C, locally 30–31°C in Crete.
Eastern Aegean Islands and Dodecanese
Weather: Generally sunny, with occasional thin cloud cover in northern areas.
Winds: Northerly 4–6 Beaufort.
Temperature: 21°C to 31–32°C.
Attica
Weather: Mostly sunny. During the afternoon, temporary cloud development may bring local showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous areas.
Winds: Northerly 3–4 Beaufort, locally up to 5 Beaufort in western areas.
Temperature: 21°C to 32°C.
Thessaloniki
Weather: Clouds will increase quickly, bringing local rain showers and isolated thunderstorms.
Winds: Northerly 3–4 Beaufort, temporarily turning southerly around midday.

Generally fair weather. Temporary morning cloudiness over the Sporades and Euboea may bring local showers. During the afternoon, clouds will develop over mainland Greece and Crete, producing local showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially in mountainous parts of the Peloponnese.
Winds will blow from the north at 4–5 Beaufort and 6–7 Beaufort in the Aegean.
Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, reaching 29–32°C in most areas and locally 33°C inland.
