The official inauguration ceremony of the new, modern facilities of the Hellenic Armed Forces General Staff’s IT and Cyber Directorate is expected to take place tomorrow, Monday, June 22, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, and a large number of Armed Forces personnel.
The new building, which was laid down on December 18, 2024 by the project’s donor, Mr. Athanasios Laskaridis, has a total area of 2,500 square meters and will serve as the operational core of the country’s digital shield, housing infrastructure of international standards.
Among other features, the new facility includes a Cyber Defence Operations Center operating 24/7, as well as specialized Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis units.
It is noted that the new IT and Cyber Directorate of the Hellenic Armed Forces General Staff is staffed by experienced personnel from the joint IT Corps, enhancing the Armed Forces’ readiness against modern digital threats.
