Political scientist Yiannis Moiras was elected on Sunday Independent Greeks party secretary.
The 45 years-old Moiras was elected at the second round with 67 votes against 43 that received his opponent Thanassis Beltsos.
Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos wished success to the new secretary and in a statement he reiterated his intention to cooperate with other anti-memorandum parties and persons.
The new secretary in a statement to ANA-MPA noted among others that “The party’s Founding Declaration and its programme along with the consistency and the fortitude of our leader Panos Kammenos are the guarantees that the Greek people can and should continue to have confidence in the Independent Greeks” concluding that “From today only work in the party and daily struggles in the society”.
