The ‘Yes’ camp holds a slim lead in the Greek referendum according to an opinion poll conducted by the pollster Alco and published in the Athens daily newspaper Ethnos on Friday.
The findings put ‘Yes’ supporters at 44.8 per cent against 43.4 per cent for the ‘No’ vote, with 11.8 per cent still undecided.
The pollster said the result is within its 3.1 margin of error. The survey found that 74 per cent of Greeks wanted to remain in the Euro zone, while 15 want a return to a national currency and 11 per cent undecided. The outcome of the vote could decide whether the country would receive a last-ditch rescue and ultimately its future in the Euro zone.
