The next steps by the SYRIZA government were being anticipated on Sunday evening after a “landslide” victory for the “no” vote.

The unexpected margin of victory — which was not forecast or predicted by any opinion pollster — appears to have changed the government’s planning, especially in terms of a possible reshuffle.

All eyes are on the finance minister’s post, as Yanis Varoufakis had reportedly come under sharp criticism from within ruling SYRIZA over recent period.

Acording to sources within the government, “the 60-percent result shows that there’s no reasoning behind changing Varoufakis”.

Other sources said the Greek PM Alexis Tsipras has already spoken separately with French President Francois Hollande and ECB chief Mario Draghi, with contacts with other European leaders pending.
In a slight “dichotomy” of statements from top SYRIZ A cadres in the wake of the solid “no” vote, hardline Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis said the intent is now for an agreement that is “compatible with SYRIZA’s program”.
