The first findings from inspections by the National Transparency Authority, which began at his request to investigate possible illegal online references to healthcare services, were published by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis in a post.

Among the findings he posted on X are cases in which injectable cosmetic treatment products were found at a biopathologist’s medical practice without purchase receipts being provided, as well as a naturopathic care center where, among other things, a bioresonance device and equipment for colon hydrotherapy, lipolysis and visceral fat removal were found.

A case was also recorded involving a provider of “quantum biofeedback”, who presented the premises as a “medical practice” without having provided a recognized academic qualification in Greece.

“Following my request, based on the investigation of the internet for illegal online references to medical services, the National Transparency Authority immediately began inspections.

The first findings submitted to me for information a short while ago state the following:

‘…Within this framework, an inspection program has been drawn up by the Health and Welfare Sector of the Inspection and Audit Unit covering all -118- facilities/providers, and -8- inspections are already underway.

In addition to the above, following coordination between our service and the Deputy Governor for Market Control, E-Commerce & Consumer Protection of the Independent Authority for Market Control & Consumer Protection, an inspection program was drawn up, involving joint inspection teams, for a total of -17- service providers against whom complaints had been submitted to the aforementioned service. -4- inspections are already underway.

The following indicative initial findings have emerged from the on-site inspection (21.09.2026) and the information collected, as applicable:

– Medical practice, licensed by the Athens Medical Association for a biopathologist: During the on-site inspection, a laboratory was found to be operating without the scientific director being present on the premises.

In the laboratory refrigerator containing consumables, where blood samples and sera were stored, six (6) types of injectable preparations (vials), from different companies, were found inside boxes (hyaluronic acid products, fillers, exosomes), which are used for medical aesthetic procedures. According to the biopathologist, these preparations were intended for personal use. Purchase receipts for the above preparations were requested but were not provided.

Also, an advertisement for the laboratory on social media referred to the provision of aesthetic dermatology services.

– “Naturopathic Care Center”: During the on-site inspection at the Center in question, equipment for colon hydrotherapy, a bioresonance device, and devices for visceral fat removal and lipolysis were found.

The activities of the Center had been inspected by the National Transparency Authority in 2024, and the report was forwarded: (a) to the Ministry of Health for legislative regulation of the operation of all alternative medicine activities, setting terms and conditions; (b) to the Central Health Council (KESY) in order to clarify the responsibilities and operating procedures for bioresonance devices; and (c) to the Prosecutor’s Office for criminal assessment.

– “Private Medical Practice ….. IKE”: The company had been granted by the Athens Medical Association a certificate of lawful operation of a private medical practice with a doctor without a medical specialty as its scientific director.

During the on-site inspection, injectable preparations (polypeptides, vitamins) were found which, according to the receipts provided, had been purchased by the doctor from a pharmacy in Germany, with patients’ names indicated.

There were two acupuncture rooms in the practice, where relevant needles were found. Equipment for activating/regenerating cells and for body analysis was also found.

At the time of the inspection, injectable treatments were being administered by an assistant nurse in the presence of the doctor.

– Provision of “quantum biofeedback” services: During the on-site inspection, three devices were found which, according to the service provider, are used to identify sources of stress in the body. No preparations were found on the premises.

In a video posted on social media, she presents the premises where she operates as a “medical practice.” No recognized academic qualification in Greece was provided.

– Polyclinic: The following departments were operating with licenses from the Athens Medical Association: cardiology practice, internal medicine practice, biological materials diagnostic laboratory, and imaging laboratory.

The obstetrics-gynecology practice and the plastic and reconstructive surgery practice included in its operating license had ceased operating. A declaration of cessation of operation was provided only for the obstetrics-gynecology practice.

No indications of unlawful operation of the polyclinic in relation to its license were identified.’”
