Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting, Mr Netanyahu stressed the importance of strategic cooperation between Greece and Israel for regional stability, while congratulating Greece on its choice of Israeli defence systems.

The two prime ministers discussed regional developments, as well as further cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector. The prospect of promoting another Greece–Cyprus–Israel trilateral summit was also at the centre of discussions, within the framework of the close cooperation between the three countries in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is currently in the United States as part of his attendance at the United Nations General Assembly, where he will deliver his speech, which is expected to contain messages directed at many recipients.
