Other political leaders’ statements from Parliament in the early morning (!) hours of Thursday on on the second package of prior actions envisioned in a memorandum for a third Greek bailout:
Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis:
“Government’s handling of economic crisis brought the country to a worse state than previous situation”
Theodorakis towards PM Alexis Tsipras:
“You remind one of spoiled princes …put an end to more lies and evasion.”
He also called for the ouster of Parliament President Zoe Konstantopoulou. “She needs to step down from the podium, give up Parliament’s television channel alone and limit herself to her obligations as a MP.”
Communist Party (KKE) leader Dimitris Koutsoumbas:
“Changes benefit banks and capital in multiple ways”. He charged that more austerity will follow and accused the government of fabricating assurances to working-class families that their bank deposits will not be subjected to a bail-in.
Rightist-populist Independent Greeks (AN.EL) party leader Panos Kammenos, the junior coalition party leader and defence minister, called for a 30-percent cut in deputies’ pay and a repeal to a law on ministers’ immunity from prosecution.
PASOK president Fofi Gennimata:
Government should cooperate with other party leaders and agree on a road map to lead country out of the crisis, given that the specter of Grexit remains “parked in the driveway as long as the lies about the drachma persist.”
