Hellenic Seaways high-speed passenger and car ferry “Flying Cat 4” is being checked for damages on Sunday after running aground just outside the harbor of the Cycladic island of Tinos on Sunday morning in misty conditions.

Private divers inspected the ship’s hull and are looking for ways to rescue the ship without further damaging the hull in the process. A tug boats from Mykonos is nearby in an attempt to tow the catamaran-style ferry to the island.

Thankfully, there were no injuries among the 239 passengers. All people on board were transfered safely to Tinos harbor in fishing boats.
