A French scented partnership between the Athens State Orchestra and the Onassis Cultural Centre

The programs focus on the musical avant-garde in France in early 20th- and 21st-century France

In collaboration with the French Institute, as part of the “Hellas- France Alliance 2014” program

Two concerts planned to be held in the first half of 2014 inaugurate the Athens State Orchestra’s collaboration with the OCC, forming a section that fits perfectly the profile of the Onassis Cultural Centre.

The programs focus on the musical avant-garde in France in early 20th- and 21st-century France respectively.

In the second concert to be held at OCC, on Friday, May 9, the Athens State Orchestra will be retaining the French flavour of its first appearance.

More specifically, next to famous works of Claude Debussy and Igor Stravinsky, the orchestra will perform a work by Christina Athinodorou from Cyprus alongside with exciting works by contemporary French composers. The Athens State Orchestra will be conducted by experienced French conductor Pierre – André Valade.
