Added taxation to impact tourism negatively

Warnings by hotel and tourism authorities

Tourism and island authorities are in a race against time in order to catch up with the taxation of tourism that negotiations between the Greek government and its lenders are bringing on.

On their part, hoteliers ask for the PM’s involvement, noting that added taxation on tourism and hotel businesses in islands will undermine current tourism figures as well as the competitiveness of Hellenic tourism. Island authorities also state the same, ringing the proverbial warning bell, stating that SME businesses on islands have reached a breaking point.
