Ancient Epidaurus Theater events with English subtitles and easy access

More people than ever will be able to understand and enjoy the events at the Ancient Epidaurus Theater thanks to English subtitles and a return bus service with tickets!

Newsroom June 30 12:08

Until now, foreign-language speakers were able to enjoy the acoustics and scenery surrounding the Epidaurus Ancient Theater but they weren’t able to truly grasp the meaning of the performances, usually performed in Greek. All this has changed with English subtitles accompanying performances at the venue for the first time this year. This opens the door to greater enjoyment and understanding when performances kick off on July 5.

The performances are:

* July 5: Euripides’ “Helen” by Dimitris Karantzas
* July 12: Aeschylus’ “Prometheus Bound” by Ektoras Lygizos
* July 18-19: Sophocles’ “Philoctetes” by the Municipal Regional Theater of Patras & Artivities (pictured)
* July 25-26: Euripides’ “Hippolytus” featuring actress/director Lydia Koniordou and the National Theater of Greece
* August 1-2: Aristophanes’ “The Frogs” featuring Yiannis Kakleas and the National Theater of Greece

Specially scheduled buses make return trips to the theatre on performance days. The routes are as follows:

Argos – Theatre: departure: 19:00.
