Independent Greeks (AN.EL) MP Costas Damovolitis has been expelled by the party, according to party leader and DM Panos Kammenos, hours after Damovolitis said he would vote ‘yes’ in Sunday’s referendum.

The brash Kammenos, speaking from the … defence ministry, spoke before cameras to claim that “we are at war. If someone cannot bear the pressure he leaves”.

Speaking earlier on Thursday to a local radio station, Damovolitis said he believed the referendum question essentially boils down to choosing between the euro and the drachma. He also expressed his concern about the future.
