Athens and Epidaurus Festival: Opening with theater, dance, and music at Peiraios 260

Performances begin June 5th

Newsroom May 31 06:23

The Athens and Epidaurus Festival at Peiraios 260, starting June 5th, offers a diverse program exploring modern life’s challenges through performances by renowned and emerging artists. Krzysztof Warlikowski’s “Elizabeth Costello / J. M. Coetzee: Seven Lessons and Five Parables” opens the festival, followed by works addressing identity, technology’s impact, and the quest for democracy. Giannis Mantafounis presents “À la Carte,” Anastasia Valsamaki debuts “The Verso,” and Mode Plagal concludes with three concerts. Warlikowski’s production, delving into the role of art in society, is a highlight, drawing from Coetzee’s literary trilogy.
