Athens: Bomb found near the police base (photos)

It contained half a pound of C4 plastic explosive & 150 grams of dynamite – An unknown person at 12:29′ & gave a time window of 45 minutes

An unknown person called the Hellenic Police at 12:29′ and warned of a bomb on Kokkinopoulou Street in Zografou, near the Anti-Riot Police Unit (MAT) headquarters and outside the Polytechnic University, giving a time limit of 45 minutes before its explosion.

The area was immediately cordoned off and a team from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department of the Hellenic Police rushed to the scene, found an active explosive device with a watch in a bag and neutralized it.

In particular, the explosive mechanism that was inside a plastic food container and had, in addition to a clock, two detonators and a switch.

The explosive charger consisted of one pound of C4 plastic explosive and 150 grams of dynamite.

The investigation into the case was undertaken by the Anti-Terrorist Service of the Hellenic Police.
