The Volunteering Program of the Athens Half Marathon set to take place on May 3 has begun with organizers seeking an authentic, unique team of volunteers willing to contribute. The Volunteering Program allows volunteers to acquire unique experiences, states the Athens Marathon web site. “The volunteerism is particularly important not only for the individuals but also for the society. Volunteerism may not be obligatory, may not be financial rewarding, but it is beneficial for the personal growth and development,” states the site.
