Tara Ruby, a former Air Force servicemember remembers a time when there weren’t lactation rooms for nursing mothers in the military. She would sneak into bathrooms and empty offices to nurse her newborn. When the Fort Bliss Army base in El Paso opened a lactation room, the woman who is now a photographer, gathered ten mothers breastfeeding in uniform to celebrate!
The photo went viral when she posted it on Thursday with the hashtag #normalizebreastfeeding. The photo went viral, shared more than 4,000 times within 23 hours.
