Greek police in Corfu are investigating a complaint about rape filed by a 21-year-old British tourist who alleged she was raped by a 23-year-old worker at the hotel where she was staying on the island.

According to the information by ERT, the 21-year-old and the 23-year-old of Albanian origin met at the hotel where the young lady was staying with her friends.

The 23-year-old was working as a barman at the hotel’s pool and the two started talking via Instagram. As the 21-year-old said, he suggested that they meet outside the hotel, in the area of ​​Saint George.

She accepted the proposal and followed him to the house where he lived. Then, he claimed he would take a bath and then get ready so they could go out to have fun. However, the girl alleged that he attacked her and tried to take off her clothes. She resisted and pushed him away, but the 23-year-old eventually restrained her and sexually assaulted her, according to the complaint.

The young woman returned to the hotel and revealed to her friends the nightmare she experienced. She reported the rape through 112, as a result of which the Greek authorities were informed. She showed the police authorities the photos of the 23-year-old from Instagram. They searched for him in the hotel and his room but did not locate him in the confines of the facilities.

The information states that the 21-year-old woman was examined by a medical examiner, who found no traces of violence on her body. The police investigation is in full swing.
