Chinese Prime Minister: We want to connect with Europe through Piraeus

“We have big plans for the Balkans – Big economic benefits for Greece and other European countries on the way”

During his visit in Belgrade on the occasion of the summit between China and 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) which will be held tomorrow and the day after at the Serbian capital, the Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, spoke of big plans for the Balkans.

In an opinion article published in the Serbian news agency Tanjug, the Chinese prime minister stressed how important is to the Chinese government the connection of China with the central Europe by land and sea.

In the article, the Prime Minister of China made special reference to the port of Piraeus and characterized the port being the key node in the movement of goods to and from China.
