The subversive rendition of Aristophanes’s ancient classical Greek theatrical play Lysistrata, by director Michael Marmarinos was very refreshing. With a new translation and the charmingly ‘crazy’ actress Lena Kistopoulou taking on the role of rebellious Lysistrata on stage, and a female chorus that literally sheds its clothes, the play promises to be worth catching. It will be put on at the ancient theatre of Epidaurus on August 5.
