The Constitutional Court of Colombia has approved same sex marriage, making it the fourth country in Latina America, after Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay to do so. The Colombian legal system had made a decisive step towards accepting same sex marriage in April, when the Constitutional Court overturned an appeal by a sitting judge to decline same sex couples to marry under legal requirements existing for heterosexual couples.
