The female student, aged 22, at a vocational school in west Athens, Rendi, that went on a rampage at the campus on Thursday lightly stabbed another three fellow students during a nursing lecture. She was disarmed by other students and teaching staff.

The man from Kazakhstan, in Greece for 25 years, said that told MEGA that “something huge happened and that’s why she did it.” Prior to the event she had complained of racism and being hassled on account of her foreign background. The father said that she did not want to go to school but her parents forced her to finish her studies.

He complained that his daughter has clammed up now and he is unaware of what happened, stating only that his daughter is not one to just grab a knife.
