Dramatic video shows giant cruise causing a ‘tsunami’

The video was filmed by a passenger who was heard saying: “There is no way, look how close we are”

A new video filmed by a passenger aboard the Carnival Vista provides a new view of the moment the giant cruise ship destroyed a marina as it departed Messina, Italy in August. The new footage shows the moment that the 134.000-ton cruise liner caused a ‘mini tsunami’ destroying the Italian marina in Messina, Sicily, from the mega cruise ship’s point of view.
The man filming can be heard expressing concern for those moored close to the pier, saying: “This may not be good for these boats.”
He then adds: “There’s no way, look how close we are”.
The $800 million Carnival Vista was built in Italy and began sailing the Mediterranean in May. The 3,954-passenger ship is expected back in its home port of Miami in November.
