The public broadcaster ERT will be the global digital provider, said Infrastructure Minister Christos Spirtzis to ERT1 TV channel.

He said that “the state will offer a global range transmitter in order to cover the needs for nationwide coverage and to reach the Greeks abroad.”

Regarding the broadcasting licences, Mr. Spirtzis said that the only one which is being threatened in the last months is the government clarifying that the conditions for receiving a broadcasting licence are the same for all and the tender will be conducted by the Greek National Council for Radio and Television.

The minister noted that numerous projects were auctioned in a wrong way in the past and that the tenders will be launched very soon, whereas all the budgets will be totally transparent.
