European Commission: Scenarios of a 12-month extension of the Memorandum

In case Troika does not return to Athens by the end of next week, negotiations will come to a “breaking point”

Brussels don’t rule out the possibility of a 12 month extension of the Memorandum in case that Troika does not complete the assessment by the end of the year and does not make an agreement for the next day.

According to Eurozone source with knowledge of the negotiations between Athens and Troika explains that this could be based on technical reasons, such as capital adequacy of some banks.

At the same time, the same sources make clear that if negotiations are not completed that will create a big problem to Greece.

Despite all they seem not to be in any rash as far as the return of Troika is concerned, since they mention that it could even be towards the end of next week.

However, if the end of next week’s “deadline” expires with no results, then the sources state that negotiations will come to a “breaking point” leaving negotiations in the air.
