A new 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred shortly before 7:30 this morning in the sea area north of Crete.

The 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at 7:24 Monday morning with its epicentre located 47km north-northeast of Heraklion.

The focal depth of the 4.2 magnitude earthquake was estimated at 14km.

It was preceded by a 4 Richter earthquake from the same area at 5:07 am and another tremor 10 minutes earlier with a magnitude of 3.7 Richter.
