Farmers in Platycampos: Roadblocks at least until Monday ahead of the new CAP

“If we withdraw, we will do it in an organized manner, just as we started. The struggle will not stop here”

The farmers in Larissa at Platycampos outlined their next moves during a meeting held Thursday afternoon after their return from Athens.

Specifically, they decided to maintain the roadblocks until Monday, when the EU Agriculture Ministers Summit will take place to review the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

In addition to the roadblocks, other separate actions are expected in cities, and with this decision, the farmers in Karditsa are also expected to join.

According to information, a nationwide meeting of the roadblocks is expected over the weekend to coordinate actions, while the expressed desire is for a new meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis to take place by March 11, mainly to address the problems caused by the bad weather “Daniel.”

In the meantime, around 3 o’clock on Thursday afternoon, the tractors that participated in the large rally in Athens arrived at the Platykampos blockade, and then the farmers’ meeting began.

Apart from Platykampos, meetings are also being held at the blockades in other areas.

Later in the day, farmers will gather in Serres, while tomorrow the farmers of Pella will come together.
