The Holy Light: Transported by Aegean, Olympic Air, and SKY Express aircraft

The Holy Light is expected to arrive at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos from Jerusalem, under the care of the Greek government – Aegean and Olympic Air will transport it to 9 regions while SKY Express to 7

On Holy Saturday afternoon, the Holy Light will be transported from Athens to different parts of Greece using both regular and emergency flights operated by AEGEAN and Olympic Air. The journey begins with its arrival at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” from Jerusalem, managed by the Greek government. Subsequently, the Holy Light will be carried to 9 destinations across Greece exclusively for this purpose, facilitated by scheduled and emergency special flights organized by AEGEAN and Olympic Air.

SKY express will transport the Holy Light to seven destinations in Greece.

The company announced that once again this year, faithful to the values, customs, and traditions of the country, “SKY express will transport the Holy Light of hope and love to every corner of Greece, specifically to Heraklion, Rhodes, Mykonos, Lesbos, Santorini, Chios, and Kythira, having made both its personnel and its brand-new aircraft available to the Greece.”

The process is expected to be completed early on Holy Saturday, with the flight schedule as follows:

* Athens – Heraklion (GQ216): Departure 20:55 – Arrival 21:45

* Athens – Rhodes (GQ284): Departure 20:20 – Arrival 21:20

* Athens – Mykonos (GQ234): Departure 20:35 – Arrival 21:20

* Athens – Lesbos (GQ304): Departure 20:15 – Arrival 21:20

* Athens – Santorini (GQ356): Departure 20:20 – Arrival 21:15

* Athens – Chios (GQ244): Departure 20:35 – Arrival 21:25

* Athens – Kythira (GQ440): Departure 21:00 – Arrival 21:50

“Since 2017, SKY express has continuously provided its aircraft for the purpose of transporting the Holy Light and the joyous message of the Resurrection. As in previous years, this Holy Saturday, the crew of the company on flights, both within Greece and from abroad to the country, will welcome passengers with respect for Easter traditions, offering them Easter candles,” stated the airline company in a press release.
