Films by noted Israeli director Fox at 21st Athens Intl Festival

Annual festival, called “Opening Nights” to last until Oct. 4

Screenings of films by noted Israeli director Eytan Fox will be among the highlights of this year’s 21st Athens International Film Festival Opening Nights, which commences on Sept. 24 and lasts until Oct. 4.
Fox will be on hand for the showing of three of his movies, allowing cinema aficionados to meet him and discuss his work.
Fox was born in 1964 in New York City, while at the age of two his family emigrated to Israel. A graduate of the University of Tel-Aviv’s film and television school, Fox is openly gay, a theme that is weaved in the plots in much of his work.
He has also tackled another highly sensitive issue in his work, namely, the effects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on inter-personal relationships.
