Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis sent a letter to the representatives of the troika of Greece’s international creditors on Thursday regarding the Greek government’s positions on key issues of the negotiation with the troika.
Sources state that the letter outlines the latest figures regarding the current budget that notes a primary surplus for the second consecutive year, as well as the structural changes implemented or to be implemented. The government considers that there will be no fiscal gap in 2015. It is adamant that changes in social security funds, mass layoffs and the issue of low VAT rates are unnecessary.
