French FinMin M. Sapin clarrified that European Union rules need to be followed by Greece
French Finance Minister Michel Sapin asked for Greece’s funding to be safeguarded “but within the framework of European rules.” On his arrival to Istanbul on Monday where he will participate in the G20 meeting, he said:
“We must safeguard the funding, without which Greece will be at the mercy of whatever state of the markets’ panic, but we can’t say simply that ‘we are financing, we are financing.'”
He outlined that respect of EU rules is a condition for support to Greece.
